Gorge Walking and Canyoning
This strangely-named activity is actually one of the most popular things to do in the Cardiff area. South Wales is blessed with some of the most beautiful natural gorges in the world, all only 45 minutes from Cardiff.
But what is gorge walking? Simply put, it's walking up a canyon cut by centuries of flowing water— but in practice, it's much more than that. Beautiful secluded waterfalls, deep pools, thundering rapids and crooked glistening crevasses are just some of the highlights of a South Wales gorge walk.
Worried that this might be too extreme for your hen party? Don't be. Gorge walking can be as challenging or as easy as you want it to be. Most waterfalls can be bypassed—you can even stay (mostly) dry if you want.
Kayaking
If you love the water, be sure to try one of the many guided tours of Cardiff Bay. This is a totally new way to see the city—educational, fun, and great physical activity. Many of the best restaurants are near the water, too, so feel free to hop out and grab a bite to eat if your party is feeling hungry!
Surfing
