Somebody forgot to tell South Wales it's summertime this weekend...
The rain has been heavy and persistent these last few days and that has had a noticeable effect on the river levels in the Brecons. Both the River Mellte and River Sychryd levels are quite high, so you need to be really aware of water flow levels and strength. The strength of the water flow will be able to move obstacles from the river bed, so keep an eye out for these as you make you way up the river.
Plunge pools will be deep and the waterfalls will be flowing strongly, so you will need to asses each climb and jump for every waterfall and adjust the activity accordingly.
Gorge Walking and Canyoning activities should be running across the weekend but there is more rain forecast for Saturday, so we will be assessing things all of the time and adjusting activities as required.
Coasteering activities are well and truly out this weekend along the South Wales coast. The wind is huge, the rain is heavy and the swell could be getting on for 10ft!
You'll be needing to head inland for any activities this weekend, joining us for Gorge Walking or Canyoning.
Well there is certainly swell this weekend, but it is going to be absolutely huge (possibly 10ft+) and only the strongest, most experienced surfers will be able to even consider entering the water on the South Wales coast this weekend. Even our bays, such as Rest Bay in Porthcawl or Caswell Bay in Swansea won't provide you enough protection from the swell.
Our advice is to stay clear this weekend and find a different outdoor activity to get the pulse racing.
We're not letting the weather stop us from laying on a weekend of adrenaline packed, fun filled outdoor activities and we're a firm believer in where there is a will there is a way! So, we'll be welcoming a number of Stag parties and Hen Do's who are staying across South Wales including Cardiff, Swansea and South Wales.
