The river levels are currently quite low on the River Mellte meaning all of our river based outdoor activities will be running across the weekend, including Gorge Walking and Canyoning. We're not expecting any significant rainfall and temperatures should be fairly mild too.
Ground water levels will have started to dry out a little thanks to the dry weather we've been having over the last couple of weeks, which can cause the banks of the river to become unstable. Don't let the low river levels lull you into a false sense of security though, full safety equipment and an experienced guide are still absolutely essential for any river based activity.

River Levels are low at the moment so all activities in the South Wales area for Gorge Walking and Canyoning are good but the ground is hard so any rainfall will affect conditions immediately, take caution with loose banks and sides causing hazards and potential risk
Conditions along the South Wales coast are virtually perfect for Coasteering this weekend. The swell is set to be very low, to flat, wind is a very gentle 4 - 6 knots and the temperature is mild.
Water temperatures are still low, and the tricky terrain of the rocky coastline mean thermal protection and full safety equipment will, as always, be required. You'll need to ensure an experienced guide is with you at all times who knows the local area.
Coasteering in South Wales is looking good for the week but changing on the weekend with a big swell coming through
They'll be virtually no surf along our coast here in South Wales this weekend I'm afraid. Our advice is to switch it up a little and try a different water based activity, such as Canyoning or Coasteering.
Once again we've got a weekend full of activities with our usual mix of Hen Parties and Stag Do’s joining us on the rivers in the Brecon Beacons or the Swansea coast. Once they've had the fill of adrenaline, they'll be off out in Cardiff, Swansea or Porthcawl to carry on the fun. This weekend we have a full schedule of activities including Coasteering, Gorge walking, Canyoning and kayaking.
