River levels are basically perfect for Gorge Walking, Gorge Scrambling, Canyoning and all mountain Gorge events, the rainfall has been constant but not heavy so the waterfalls are in full flow. As always the water is cold and the conditions changeable for all mountain river activities in South Wales.
The ground water levels are saturated so the waterfalls will be flowing well and constantly however this means that any significant rainfall could have a more sustained effect on the river levels.
Keep a watchful eye on the rainfall through the week as this could send well's above the required safety level and bring hazards into the rivers.
There is a huge swell around at the moment so Coasteering on the cliffs in the South Wales area close to Cardiff, Swansea is not looking good. The West would be better for calmer conditions and more settled adventure.
Surfing, Surf Kayaking, Beach Days and Paddle Boarding
All surf and swell based activities are looking good throughout the week with big swells in the region, may be an idea for the less experienced to hed to the sheltered spots in the area
The usual spots such as Rest Bay in Porthcawl or Caswell Bay and Oxwich Bay in Swansea should all be good spots.
The season is now settling down to a steady pace with our stag, hen, youth, military groups on our adventure activities but we still have a flow of groups throughout the year especially on the Gorge Walking, Canyoning and Coasteering events. Check out our facebook site to see all the real life pictures of the outdoor activity events in South Wales.
We're also turning our focus to our RLSS Water Safety courses and First Aid courses, which we'll be running for a number of different groups, including Youth Group leaders, Scout Leaders and employees of companies that need to perform risk assessments for water based activities. Contact us to find out more about any of these courses.
