Gorge Walking, Gorge Scrambling, Canyoning, Ghyll Scrambling near Cardiff, Swansea and South Wales: The rivers have been extremely high at fast flowing over the past couple of weeks and this week will offer the same sort of conditions. However the rivers for the weekend are looking good for Canyoning and Gorge Walking on the Sychryd and Mellte rivers, the flow seems to be at the right level for both activities but still on the higher side over the flow, so extreme caution must be taken at all times. Later in the week the rain is back and the rivers will be running high again so this may cause the areas it be volatile for gorge activities.
Coasteering near Cardiff, Swansea in South Wales Again nothing to report her accept for there is no chance of coasteering in the local areas by Cardiff and Swansea over the next few days. The wind is huge and so is the swell so all areas along the coastline are very volatile for Coasteering. The only area that may be OK would be West Wales in st Davids area on the protected regions.
Surfing, Surf Kayaking and Paddle Boarding Surfing should be good on the protected beaches such as Coney beach by Cardiff in Porthcawl and Caswell bay and Langland in Swansea. The Swell is huge this week but also so is the wind which will affect the swell conditions massively. Look at windguru on the internet to give you an idea of the wind strength and direction.
Events and Activities - We are hosting the usual array of activities over the next few days but a little less numbers and definately controlled by the weather. Barry and the lads are on their Stag weekend in Cardiff and hoping to go Gorge Walking or Canyoning depending on the rainfall and conditions. We'll let you know how we get on as usual and how the wet and windy ands another element to our adventure.
