River levels are Medium - High at the moment, there is a steady flow of water in the rivers and all gorge and Canyoning events are suitable on the lower and the higher level. Gorge Scrambling, Gorge walking events are suitable for the next few days, Canyoning would have to be assessed for river levels to be suitable or un-suitable through the week with rain and weather conditions. There may be heavier rain over the next few days and river levels will rise and may cause different issues for activities especially on the Canyoning event days. Issues would relate to river levels, debris, trees, boulders, man made items, caution should be taken at all times. All gorge walking, gorge scrambling. There are higher numbers of tourists on the site at present and caution must to taken for all users on site. Extra caution must be taken to debris in the river causing hazards. River levels must be assessed constantly to make sure there are safe water levels in the region for the events. Increasing amount of wood debris in the rivers due to dying trees including Ash Dieback which is a big problem in the area, need to be aware of any extra hazards and be very cautious of the situation. UPDATE - 30.03.2024 - River levels are dropping through the day, levels are under .5 meters and dropping. Tree debris is high in the rivers at the moment with many brittle trees from Ash Die Back, also there are many users on the gorge at the moment and people must be aware of the dangers within the Canyon. UPDATE - 01.04.2024 - Dry weather over the next few days and the river levels are dropping, water flow is steadying and all gorge and canyoning activities are acceptable for all gorge regions. UPDATE - Heavy rain over the past few days and river levels have risen up to .88 meters and now down to .66 meters. Gorge walking and scrambling are acceptable at these levels but Canyoning on the higher level would not be suitable. Rainfall and river levels will be assessed continuously to evaluate the conditions and suitability.
Coasteering Cardiff, Swansea, Porthcawl, South Wales predicted weekly report 28th March 2024 - Coasteering conditions will be unsuitable today or for the rest of the week ahead in certain areas. The winds will be strong at times this will cause swells and rougher seas, there will also be no periods of calmer winds and sea conditions. Later in the week towards the weekend the conditions will be unsuitable and the swell and the wind will be to strong in the area. Caution must be taken and tides, winds, swells, sea conditions checked daily. There will not be a chance of coasteering later in the week if the swell increases. Conditions may be better in West Wales in sheltered areas. The sea conditions will only be suitable mainly 2 - 3 hours before the high tide and 1 hour after high tide.
