The sun is shining on us this weekend here in South Wales so we'll be running a full program of our outdoor activities up in the Brecon Beacons. The river levels are currently fairly low, and with no significant rainfall forecast over the next few days there's currently no reason we can see to prevent both our Gorge Walking and Canyoning activities to be run.
Although the water levels are expected to be quite low, you'll still need to ensure you have full safety equipment, including helmet, buoyancy aid and good sturdy footwear. We're expecting some nice weather with temperatures around the 15°C mark but water temperatures in the rivers are fairly consistent throughout the year so you'll still need to wear good thermal protection such as a wetsuit.
Don't let the conditions fool you though. You always need to respect the river and under no circumstances should you be entering the water without full safety equipment and an experienced guide who understands the area.
It's on!
Conditions look like they'll be favourable for some Coasteering activities on the South Wales coast this weekend. Swell is low at around 2ft - 3ft both days and the wind is also light. Tide times mean the afternoon to early evening is looking like the best time for the activities to run and even the tidal size seems to be on our side this weekend.
Water temperatures in the sea will still be fairly cold, so good thermal protection is required despite the nice weather we're forecast. Full safety equipment and an experienced guide are a must as always and you must never attempt any Coasteering activity without them.
Virtually all of the conditions along the South Wales coast are idea for surfing this weekend, except the swell! The swell is going to be pretty low across both days, so those looking to catch some big waves are going to be out of luck. The conditions could be ideal for those who are just beginning, with some small waves still available in places, Porthcawl looking better than Swansea this weekend, and lovely conditions outside of the water too.
It's busy busy busy this weekend as we welcome both Hen Parties and Stag Do’s who are partying across South Wales this weekend, including Cardiff, Swansea and Porthcawl. They'll be joining us for a full weekend of activities and will be taking part in Gorge Walking, Canyoning and Coasteering.
We've also got some families joining us who are in South Wales for the Easter holidays for a number of activities which in Gorge Walking, Canyoning and some surfing lessons in Rest Bay, Porthcawl.
If this sounds like the kind of thing you'd want to do for your Hen or Stag, then give us a call. We can arrange a full program of activities for you and also help with accommodation and travel plans too.
