The South Wales Coastline was voted the second best in the World in the lonely planet guide next to New Zealand, in this country we really do not realise the natural beauty and history we have in this amazing country. No body has the beautifull mountains, waterfalls and coastline like we have here in south wales.
Along the coastline from Cardiff Bay to Pembrokeshire there are a series of Cliffs, ledges and rock faces, so of these are sheer rock faces that rise from the sea bed. In the local area we have a huge tidal range. Cardiff has a 13 meter tidal range the second largest in the world next to Canada. We are also blessed to receive some of the best swell and surf in Europe with beaches such as llantwit Major, Southerndown, Porthcawl and Swansea. With the mixture of sheer cliff faces, huge tides and swell we also get some of the best coasteering in the world. Coasteering consisit of these main elements.
- Wild Sea Swimming
- Sea Level Traversing(Sideways climbing)
- Low Level Coastal Climbing
- Coastline Navigation
- Rock Hoping
- Low, Mid and High Level Cliff face Jumps
- Surf and Swell Control
Due to our environment we have some of the best coasteering areas in the world and these areas are very close to Cardiff, Porthcawl and Swansea which makes the event very popular with Stag Weekends in Cardiff and Swansea and also youth groups and corporate organisations as well as many military groups.
Coasteering can be challenging and demanding in many ways but also exhilarating and truly amazing with spectacular scenery and environment. It truly is the activiy for all groups and parties and something you have to experience in a lifetime.
