Gorge Walking, Gorge Scrambling, Canyoning near Cardiff, Swansea and South Wales: Again this week we have nearly perfect conditions i the mountains for Gorge walking and Canyoning on the higher levels. The rain has been consistant through the week but not to heavy so the waterflkow is the perfect level for all Gorge Walking and Canyoning activities in the region. the main areas we be pontneathvaugh, the Sychryd and the Mellte Rivers which are both flowing at the exact levels needed for the events.
Coasteering near Cardiff, Swansea in South Wales - This is a little harder to predict, the wind and the swell are varied at the moment with no real predictability. The best day looks like Saturday when the swell and the wind drops in the afternoon, but the tides are very early or late afternoon for this event so the timings have to be perfect on the high tide and swell. The swell on Monday and Tuesday next week is looking huge so definitely stay clear of this event for those days.
Surfing and Surf Kayaking as with the coasteering this is definately a week to keep your eye on, the swell is coming through especially for Monday and Tuesday which are looking like huge days and not for the faint hearted, but protected beaches should be working well such as Coney Beach in Porthcawl and Caswell bay in Swansea. There are high winds predicted as well as the swell so keep an eye on the weather charts at all times, especially windguru.
Events and Activities - This week has been very event full starting with Canyoning with Catherine and her family from London all having a great adventure on the Mellte river which included my daughter Gaby and the dog Dexter. This weekend we have Andy and the lads who are staying in Cardiff on their Stag weekend. They also will be with us on the Canyoning Site to try and master the mountain and the 30 Foot Beast.
