Gorge Walking, Gorge Scrambling, Canyoning near Cardiff, Swansea and South Wales: The current river level is looking quite low this week again however rain is on the way which should allow it to rise up a bit higher. The temperature is staying between 15 and 18 degrees so be prepared for the cold shock when entering the water. Full neoprene wetsuits with good footwear, helmets and buoyancy aids are a must.
Coasteering near Cardiff, Swansea in South Wales - The conditions don’t look good for coasteering for most of this week. The swell pushing above 3ft most of the days, the most likely days for this activity are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. As the activity can only be conducted during a high tide, check magicseaweed for a day by day report. Wetsuits, helmets and buoyancy aids are a must during this activity.
Surfing and Surf Kayaking The Surf height is picking up this week in Porthcawl, reaching 5-6ft on some days. However, most days this week we will be seeing 3ft waves which are perfect to learn in. Just big enough to catch, but not so big that the activity becomes too intense. Therefore, it will be a great week for surfers and kayakers that are looking to learn and get into the activity. Events and Activities - As were getting further into summer were seeing more and more groups across all activities. Helen and her colleagues will be able to experience what the gorge has to offer this weekend and the day after will be able to also experience the sea and may be able to catch a wave or two.
