Gorge Walking, Gorge Scrambling, Canyoning near Cardiff, Swansea and South Wales: The river levels are stable around the mid mark currently however there is rain coming in over next week so it is possible the river levels will increase. This will make for changing conditions over the week, however the group on the weekend should have a relatively high river level to look forward to, making the activity a bit more technical. We are watching the rainfall radar to make sure the river levels are compliant for our activities, the conditions are suitable only for groups with expert guiding especially in the Mellte region
Coasteering and wild swimming in South Wales this coming week is completely blown out for coasteering with swells reaching 11 ft. Friday is the only day that is ok with a 1ft swell at around midday, however with the swell so high on the other days it is too dangerous to consider the activity.
Surfing and Surf Kayaking will be quite good for experienced surfers this week with highs of 11ft. The wind is relatively low at the start of the week and picking up towards the end. We would not advise beginners to surf this week as the waves may prove too powerful for them, beginner beaches could be in the more protected areas such as Coney Beach in Porthcawl, Caswell Bay in Swansea and Langland Bay in Swansea. The more exposed beaches will definately be for the more experienced surfer and Kayaker.
We are definitely in the season now with groups with us on activities from all over the country, we initially have Sam and the lads coming from all over the country on the Gorge initially we were going to be Coasteering but that was definitely taken off the agenda when the swell came in. We also have Lloyd on his Stag weekend in Cardiff and my nephew Sam on his Stag do in Cardiff. Check out the facebook pictures for all the details.
