Canyoning, Gorge Walking and Gorge Scrambling near Cardiff and Swansea in South Wales: The river levels are at a high level this week and rain is forecast which is going the keep the river level high making the canyoning activity very technical and exiting this weekend. There is a risk of flooding in the rivers however which could hinder the activity so careful monitoring of the river levels will be required. It is still cold in the Brecon Beacons due mainly to wind chill ad as such thick wetsuits, buoyancy aids and helmets are essential with under layers being advised. We will be monitoring all conditions in the river areas to ensure the activity is safe to run.
Coasteering near Cardiff and in Swansea: The conditions for the coastering this coming week are looking good. Saturday to Friday the swell is maintaining below 3ft which is optimum for the activity. It is the perfect time to do the activity as the conditions are fine so any group wishing to participate should book ASAP.
Surfing and Surf Kayaking in the South Wales region: The swell is quite high until Friday reaching around 7ft so it is not advised for beginner surfers or kayakers to go in he see for these next few days. The swell will begin to die down on Saturday and will be around 2-3ft which is optimum for beginners however later into next week he swell is stabilizing around 1ft which makes the surf non-existent. However, the wind is quite high this week making the surf unpredictable again and on most days will make it very difficult and sometimes dangerous to surf. For specific wind conditions on the day look at windguru.
We have a coasteering hen group for mid week next week which is currently at optimum conditions. The river this week is quite high but the stag group on the weekend should be able to go and will have a great experience seeing the river at its most powerful.
