Following last weeks excitement on our coasteering adventure we have another busy weekend starting with a full day of activities this coming Friday. A group has decided to go all out and experience the thrill of canyoning in the South Wales area as well as surfing lessons in Porthcawl, located between Cardiff and Swansea. We will get to the gorge for an early start, ensuring that we are the only ones there and have free reign as there will be no queues. The water should be at a good height allowing us to do all activities. We can get straight in the mix of the river, showing the group how much raw power the river has. The beautiful scenery is an added bonus when your traveling through a river valley. We shall see if they can overcome the traversing challenges the gorge has to offer and then climb up the waterfall area to the jump area. Here is when the dare devils and thrill seekers are found as crawling under a live waterfall and jumping off the cliff face into its churning depths is not for the feint of heart. The gorge walking experience will then come to a climax after a short walk over the mountain and onto the higher jumps, loonies leap. This 25 foot jump will end the activity for the few who dare to do it.
After a short break we will reconvene at Porthcawl and begin the surfing session. Looks like we might get a nice swell on Friday and have to join in with the students!! The day will be long but fun for both us and the group.
Saturday consists of a Cardiff Stag group for gorge walking, it seems the best way to welcome in a marriage contract is to go on an outdoor adventure activity!
