Current levels on the River Mellte are looking good over the weekend, however we are forecast some rain on both Saturday and Sunday. With the unpredictable weather we're expecting over the next few days across Wales, it's important that you keep a close eye on local weather conditions, particularly rainfall levels in the Brecon Beacon area.
With the recent rainfall we've been having in South Wales the ground water levels will also be good, so the waterfalls will be running constant and well. The real concern will be the cold weather, which could to icy conditions on the river banks and rocks, so make sure you have good sturdy footwear and all of the required safety equipment; buoyancy aids and helmets.
Both Gorge Walking and Canyoning activities should be able to run with experienced guides and full safety equipment. You also need to make sure you have lots of good quality thermal protection, before, during and after any outdoor activity.
The conditions this weekend are not good for Coasteering in South Wales. We've got some fairly big swell, possibly up to 6ft, but the real concern will be the strong winds, gusting up to 30 knots and switching between Northerlies and Westerlies.
The freezing conditions will also make the ground conditions very difficult. All is not lost however if you want to get out after the Christmas break for some fun filled action as both our Gorge Walking and Canyoning activities should be able to run.
We're expecting some decent swell this weekend, reaching up to 6ft at times however there will be some strong winds, switching between Northerlies and Westerlies. If you want to get out into the water for a surf, then you need to be looking at the bays in South Wales that will afford you some protection from the winds, places such as Caswell Bay and Oxwich Bay in Swansea or Rest Bay in Porthcawl may be some of your better bets.
Well, after a short break for Christmas and a Dive Trip to South Africa with our sister company Ocean Quest, we're back, refreshed and ready for the next year of outdoor activities across South Wales.
We've got plenty of plans lined of for this year as we looks to expand who we are able to offer our outdoor activities to. But don't worry, we'll still be hosting Stag Do's and Hen Parties from Cardiff, Swansea and Porthcawl too. We've been doing lots of work around our packages to make them even better than last year, so if your looking for something a little different for your Stag or Hen Party then give us a call and we can discuss what we can do for you.
