There have been many recent surveys on destinations in the world and what they offer for different groups and individuals. I personally moved to Cardiff in 1998 and established Cardiff Bay Watersports Company. I realised the potential of the area including Cardiff, Swansea, Brecon and the In surrounding areas at this time and its potential.
In 1998 the Cardiff was still very set it the past, fantastic buildings, ancient history and a vibrant population and lifestyle. Since these days Cardiff and Swansea have been developed in Many Different ways. There has been great investment into the infastructure espessially with the development of Cardiff Bay which now house's the millenium center, retails center, bars, restaurants, watersports and modern living. This has also been developed in Cardiff City Center with the new St Davids Complex which interacts the old with the new. The place is now vibrant with Bars, Restaurants, Pubs, Clubs, Coffee Shops, retails as well as the amazing history of the ancient cities of Cardiff and Swansea with there Castles and ancient buildings. Cardiff Stag weekends are now all the crave and swansea stag parties now taking off closly behind, the areas have everything to offer the perfect stag weekend.
There is also the millenium stadium the home of welsh rugby and entertainment, this really was the catalyst for the new development of Cardiff, also liberty stadium in Swansea the home of swansea city and the new cardiff city stadium both now premier league sides.
All this pales into insignificants though when it come to South Wales Natural enviroment. The brecon Beacons tower over the background with the most magnificant setting of mountains, hills and rivers flowing as the blood line of the nation. And then there is the world famous award winning coastline runing all around the country from Cardiff Bay to the gower pinisular. The most amazing jurasic cliffs tower from the water offering the perfect border from the flowing mountains. The lonely planet rated the area as the best location next to New Zealand in the world, I rest my case.
