Canyoning and Gorge Walking are both working beautifully at the moment, in areas in South Wales including Cardiff and Swansea, the ground is saturated enough and the rainfall constant enough to give the perfect conditions through the Gorges, as always the closest Gorges next to Cardiff and Swansea and in Pontneathvaughn and both the Mellte and the Sychrd Gorges are working perfectly over the next few days.
This alos means the rivers are good for Kayaking and offer some great conditions throughout South Wales even in the Taff and the Ely Rivers in Cardiff.
Coasteering also looks an option this week, as the Swell gets lower and the winds die down we may see good conditions for Coasteering by the middle to the end of the week, the tide is essential to watch and so is the weather, but to get an up to date account give us a call and we can let you know. Sites both near Cardiff, Barry Island and Swansea will be working.
Another cold week with big winds, the Swell is everywhere and when I was running this morning I checked out the Surfing in Porthcawl and it was banging, the wind was slight and the swell was big so if the wind stay low get over here or even look at Coney Beach in Porthcawl where the Surf should be good all day.The rule this week is that the swell is Big at the beginning and towards the end of the week, but so possibly are the winds, So look at protected beaches again such as Coney in Porthcawl and Caswell in Swansea.
What ever happens wrap up warm and get the right winter gear it may be good conditions but without the right gear on it could be a traumatic experience.
