Conditions are looking good for both our Gorge Walking and Canyoning activities this weekend. The river levels are at a good level and with the high ground water levels the waterfalls should be constant. The high water levels in the ground could lead to flashing if there is any significant or prolonged rainfall in the Brecon Beacons area, so it's vital to keep aware of rainfall in the areas, particularly in the 6 - 12 hours before any activity.
We've got some very mild temperatures forecast this weekend and the wind is slight, particularly on Saturday, but you'll still need good thermal protection as the water temperature in the rivers remains consistent throughout the year.
GORGE WALKING, CANYONING, GORGE SCRAMBLING SOUTH WALES UPDATE 13.03.2017
Weather is looking quite dry for the next few days but the land is saturated so the waterfalls should still be flowing and the rivers good level for all gorge related events.
If we're going to see acceptable conditions for our Coasteering activities this weekend it will be on Saturday. The swell in the morning may be too high but it is set to reduce into the afternoon and if it drops enough, you may be able to run the activity on the afternoons tide.
The wind on Saturday should be slight, in a South Easterly direction so the more sheltered bays around Swansea are likely to see the best chance of acceptable conditions. Sunday looks less likely as although the swell remains fairly low the wind is due to pick up. If Sunday is your day for activities, then we suggest heading inland and trying out some Canyoning.
There's some reasonable swell this weekend, with Saturday morning possibly the best of the conditions for surfing. The well will be around the 4ft - 6ft mark but with a gentle cross/offshore wind you could be in for some decent conditions. Sunday will see some good swell again but as we mentioned in the Coasteering the wind is due to pick up significantly on Sunday, which will bring extra challenges.
Pretty much all of the South Wales beaches will be offering some good conditions on the Saturday, so whether your near Cardiff, Swansea or Porthcawl you should be able to find what you're looking for in terms of surfing.
It's all go again this weekend as the season has well and truly started again. We're welcoming our usual mix of Stag Do’s, and Hen Parties from all over South Wales, including Cardiff, Swansea and Porthcawl. They'll be taking on a mixture of our outdoor activities, including Gorge Walking, Canyoning and some surfing lessons.
We've also got a couple of youth clubs and schools joining us this weekend for a mixture of good fun and training for upcoming trips. Give us a call today if you're looking to try some a bit different, whether it's for an upcoming Stag or Hen Party, Scout Camp or anything else and we can discuss all of the options we have
