We the weather has definitely arrived Big wind, Big rain, Big Swells, Big Tides its just all big, the surfing conditions have been blown out recently with all the stormy conditions, great to watch with such huge tides as well me and the dog got soaked on he sea front in Porthcawl on Thursday. The wind is calming down though so should get surf on the push on Saturday and possibly Sunday morning on Rest Bay in Porthcawl and Llangenith in Swansea, Beaches near to Cardiff may get surf such as Llantwit Major and Southerndown, tides are still big springs though so early morning surf is the best option or try and get in about 6pm on the night.
The Rivers are flowing again to levels not seen for some time which is great for the Kayaking accross the region including rivers in Cardiff, Neath, Newport, Swansea and accross to Camarthenshire, also Canyoning and Gorge Walking will be good for experienced people, will have to check the river levels over night as the next batch of rain may make the rivers in accessible for any Gorge Activity to be safe unless of an instructional level so be prepared, If unsure give us a call on 01656 783310.
Coasteering is possible on the early morning or early evening tides again for the more competant and experienced, winds are still hanging around and the swell is still uncertain of size and fetch so a little unpredictable, however Caswell bay should be good on the flood of the tide. Again tides are big this weekend on the spring flow so if you need to give us a call to run through the details
The water temperature in the rivers is low as always and in the sea is 16 degrees so be protected, also conditions are quite volitile on the rivers so all precautions should be taken.
