Gorge Walking, Gorge Scrambling, Canyoning near Cardiff, Swansea and South Wales: Oh my gosh, the rain has gone again, we have had all the bad weather but without the rain, we need more rain. The rivers are running very low and the waterfalls are running on their built up reserves. Every bit of rain that falls is being saturated into the land and keeping the rivers running low. The up side is the temperature is very slightly up but still very cold. All Gorge and Canyoning activities are acceptable and safe for the next few days. There is a heavy downpour on Friday so hopefully this will bring on the flow. However must be very vary of the debris in the rivers after a dry spell and heavy rain this can bring alot of debris in to the Gorge especially land slides, trees etc.
Coasteering near Cardiff, Swansea in South Wales - Coasteering is as unpredictable as always in the South Wales region, high winds and big swells are forecast throughout the week, making the even unsafe. However there is a break on Friday for a few hours, the swell is down and so is the wind so there may be a window of opportunity on Friday and possibly Saturday. Keep watching the wind and tides and swell, best times are 2 hours either side of the high tide.
Surfing and Surf Kayaking - The Surf seems to be never ending at the moment, we have good swells all week but also high winds so you must watch out for the onshore sea conditions. Protected beaches such as Caswell in Swansea, Cold Knapp near Cardiff and Coney Beach in Porthcawl should be the favourites for the next few days.
Events and Activities -The season is in full flow and we have an abundance of activities for this weekend including Graham and the lads on their Stag weekend in Cardiff participating in Canyoning on Saturday and also Peter on a Stag weekend in Cardiff taking part in Gorge Walking. There instructors will be Lee, Jarrod and Mathew. April and the gang are also with us on the Gorge Walking celebrating a 21st birthday and a Hen party all in one. We wll let you see all the shenanigans from the event on our Facebook pages.
