Gorge Walking, Gorge Scrambling, Canyoning, Ghyll Scrambling near Cardiff, Swansea and South Wales: At the moment the rivers are back down to normal after a heavy spell of rain making the rivers and gorges quite voliatile. This week has been dry so Canyoning and Gorge Walking are getting good conditions throughout the next couple of days. There is however heavy rainfall predicted for next week and over the weekend, so a constant monitoring of the river levels is essential. The Sychryd and The Mellte Rivers will be acceptable for both Canyoning and Gorge Walking but as mentioned they will. be rsing and may become hostile over the next few days.
Coasteering near Cardiff, Swansea in South Wales - After a great week of Coasteering with calm waters and perfect clean swell we have now returned to high winds and big swells making the activity unrealistic. There may be a break in the wind and swell early next week but that must also match the high tide for the event to be safe. My advise would to be steer clear on the Coasteering and head off for a Surf.
Surfing and Surf Kayaking -Surf is definitely picking up over the next few days, today has already had a good 2-3 foot wave and clean on westerly facing beaches such as Rest Bay in Porthcawl and Llangenith in Swansea. The wind is picking up as well as the swell though so sheltered beaches such as Coney in Porthcawl and Caswell Bay in Swansea may be better options latter in the week.
Events and Activities - September is still a very busy month here at Quest Adventures, this week we are Coasteering, Canyoning and Gorge Walking and also over the weekend we have Martin and the lads with us on there Stag Weekend in Cardiff full of fun and activity. We also have Matty and the boys planning to go Coasteering and if not up the mountain for a days Canyoning.
