WEATHER - This weeks weather is a tale of two halves, the next few days will be dry with South Easterly winds and colder feeling due to the winds and the lower temperatures. The weather will change on Saturday onwards with temperatures around the same will see a change in the wind as it picks up to 40 mph South Westerly, with the gale force winds the temperatures will feel colder and on Sunday onwards the winds is a real factor as it rise to 60 / 50 mph South Westerlies with warning signs from the Met Office. GORGE WALKING, GORGE SCRAMBLING, CANYONING CONDITIONS REPORT 06.02.2020 - Again the river levels are perfect for Gorge Walking, Gorge Scrambling and Canyoning at the moment .34 meters showing on the Mellte River monitor and a constant flow due to the saturated land in the area. Rivers will stay the same for around the next couple of days until the rain comes in. Rivers will rise from Sunday onwards with the incoming rain but Gorge Walking and Gorge Scrambling should still be good, Canyoning may be adversely affected with the higher river levels. The wind may cause a factor with debris in the rivers off the tree canopy especially with the plight of Ash dieback. Must be considerate of changing weather through the week.
COASTEERING CARDIFF, SWANSEA, PORTHCAWL, CARMARTHEN PREDICTED WEEKLY REPORT 06th February 2020 - Basically Coasteering in no go this week especially from Sunday onwards. The winds are high but especially high on Saturday onwards with gale force up to 60 mph winds and huge swells and surf in the area. This would make coasteering conditions to dangerous and volatile. Stay out of the cliff face areas and head for the protected zones.
WIND - Big wind week ahead, the next couple of days will see fairly moderate South Easterly 15 - 17 mph winds. From Saturday onwards the weather will change and the wind will change dramatically up to 40 mph South Westerly winds and then up to 60 and 50 mph winds Sunday and Monday. . Wind will then drop on Tuesday and Wednesday to 20 mph Westerlies.
SEA STATE and SWELL - Thursday and Friday will have calmer seas with offshore winds through out the region and in an easterly direction. Saturday onwards in a different story, huge winds and swells will create very rough and stormy sea conditions. This will be severe until Tuesday when the winds will drop and the sea state will clam down but still be moderate.
