Gorge Walking, Gorge Scrambling, Canyoning, Ghyll Scrambling near Cardiff, Swansea and South Wales: What can I say, its either going to be Epic or disastrous that's the only prediction we have this week. The rain has been pretty heavy all week with storm Barney and rivers levels have been up and down accordingly so its a little unpredictable at the moment. The best advice is to take caution and to monitor the rainfall at all times, Gorge Walking and Canyoning is a high risk activity at the best of times and with the heavy rainfall this is even more significant.
Coasteering near Cardiff, Swansea in South Wales - Coasteering again is a definaite NO GO! The swell and the wind is still huge making conditions highly volatile in the areas closest to Cardiff and Swansea. I would definitely look at the alternatives such as surfing or paddleboarding. Were looking for calm sea's and good weather for the future so we can get back in the water coasteering
Surfing, Surf Kayaking and Paddle Boarding - Surfing and paddle Boarding definitely depends on the location the the next week. The wind and the swell are big again this week so the surf will depend on the area. Coney Beach in Porthcawl nearest to Cardiff and caswell Bay in Swansea may be the best options depending on the wind direction. Tides will also be significant with some areas working better on the dropping tide rather than the incoming.
Events and Activities - Stag weekend activities with groups staying in Cardiff and Swansea have been all the rage again this year and this weekend is no exception, if the rain holds off we will be heading off into the mountains for our Gorge Walking event with Ryan and the lads staying in Cardiff for their Stag event.
