Gorge Walking, Gorge Scrambling, Canyoning, Ghyll Scrambling near Cardiff, Swansea and South Wales: The kids are back at school and guess what, the rain has stopped. The rivers are now running perfectly for Canyoning and Gorge Walking all accross the region throughout the brecon beacons. The land is still saturated and the water is flowing out into the rivers. The levels are perfect especially on the Mellte and Sychryd Gorges, so its a good time to get your wetsuits on helmets and BAs and get into the rivers.
Coasteering near Cardiff, Swansea in South Wales - Looking pretty good at the moment for all areas for Coasteering especially in Swansea and Ogmore near Cardiff. The swell is small and the wind is light so basically perfect. The tides have been very high springs or very low neaps but are now starting to even out so all looks good for Coasteering for the next few days. The water temperature is also at its highest so a good time to Coasteer all round.
Surfing and Surf Kayaking -There's one word that surfers fear, FLAT, Im afraid its not good for the surf population of South Wales at the moment, there are no waves and to think that there was surf all through August but none in September, Unthinkable really. Hopefully this will change later in the week and get at least a 2 - 3 foot wave coming through.
Events and Activities - The summer might be over, if you could call it a summer that is but our events are defiantly not, we have Paul and the lads coming from Bristol Coasteering with us tomorrow, then on Saturday we have Martin and Andrew both on Stag weekends in Cardiff for there sins. They will be Canyoning in the Higher Brecon Beacons on the morning and the afternoon. On Sunday we will welcome Phil and the cricket lads who are having a break from cricket to try there hand at Gorge Walking. We will keep you upto date with all the news and events.
