So far this year we have seen a great variation in the weather, with storms and terential rain and wind. The coastal conditions have been something to see, with huge tides and massive sea swells the coastline of south wales has taken a significant pounding and many beaches, cliffs and headlands have seen the full effect.
The rivers and mountains have also hugley been effected with the terential rain and high winds the rivers have broken their banks in many areas accross the region, not so far from here in somerset people have been driven from their homes by the effects of the storms. Fortunately in Cardiff, Swansea, Bridgend, Newport and Accross South Wales we have not been affected to this extent.
But there is a plus point to all this weather, the activities we run have been taken to a new level, the coasteering sites of Ogmore and Caswell bay have seen a battereing by have come back with a vengence, there are now new traversing areas and jumps. Also the Gorge Walking sites such as Dinas Rock are flowing with a great vein of water cascading through them.
This weekend we have Dan and a group of 6 lads in total Canyoning on the Mellte Gorge in Pontneathvaughn, they are being picked up in a minibus at 11.45am from the Mecure Hotel in Swansea and been driven up to the Gorge walking site which is a must for all Stag Weekend Parties staying in Cardiff or Swansea. They will be with Dyfed there instructor for the days event. The site is truly amazing at this time of year now especially the water is running so well.
