This could be the best weekend for a longtime for Gorge Walking, gorge scrambling and Canyoning in South Wales, especially sites close to Cardiff, Swansea, Port Talbot, Bridgend and Porthcawl. The river levels are flowing fluidly so the waterfalls will be flowing and the rapids working on all sites. It is still cold so full thermal protection will be essential.

WATER TEMPERATURE - 9 Degrees
WIND - Again this week is all about the wind, we have strong Westerlies coming in from Sunday which will massively effect coasteering from Swansea to Cardiff, gale force winds are predicted up to 35 mph on Sunday and through to the early part of the week. (www.windguru.cz/5693)
SEA STATE AND SWELL - Stormy week ahead with high Westerly winds especially from Sunday on wards creating a very rough sea state in the areas and beaches accross South Wales (https://magicseaweed.com/Southerndown-Surf-Report/4321/)
SWELL - 3FT - 16FT
HIGH TIDE TODAY - HT 5.52pm HEIGHT 8 .59Meters.
PREDICTED 72 HOUR REPORT
The only option for coasteering this week will be to head into West Wales, or if your very experienced the today may be possible with a smaller swell and lower winds, need to start around the high tide at 6pm so 4pm on sites close to Cardiff and Swansea would be the better option. The rest of the week is definitely out of the question, high winds and big swells making coasteering too dangerous.

Smaller swell and surf today but definately picking up over the weekend and into next week but so is the wind, the better beaches will be protected from the Westerly winds ie Coney Beach Porthcawl and Caswell in Swansea. Surf may get very gnarly on the Western Beaches so take care.
Cardiff, Swansea & South Wales Group Outdoor Activities
Huge weekend of activities again especially in the mountains with the rivers running perfectly we have a full programme of gorge walking, gorge scrambling and canyoning with stag groups from Cardiff and Swansea and the usual mix of fun seeking adventures.
